Pomegranate Apple Crisp

Pomegranate Apple Crisp

Ingredients:
4 medium apples peeled cored and sliced
½ pomegranate seeds - skin and light colored membrane removed so it's just the seeds
½ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg
½ cup rolled oats
½ cup all purpose flour
½ cup sugar
½ cup unsalted butter melted

  • Preheat the oven to 375o F and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Mix together the apples, pomegranate seeds, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly into the baking dish. Stir together the oats, flour and sugar and rub in the butter between your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs then sprinkle over the top of the fruit. Bake for 45 minutes or until the apples are soft.

It is and it's good for you. Pomegranate is very healthy and you know what they say about an apple a day. It makes a very different dessert for thanksgiving that I'm sure your guests never had. You could also try it hot with a scoop of ice cream if you like that. Thanks for taking the time to comment. :-)
